The year 2014 is poised to be another year of expansion for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts as it plans to cater bigger market across Asia by opening new branches in Thailand (two in Phuket), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh & Hanoi), India (Bangalore), Philippines (Cebu), and Singapore.

During the same year, Indonesia will be graced the first Mövenpick hotel. It is located in Jimbaran Bay, south of Bali. Impressive features include 270 rooms – 70 among which are suites, and 70 well-appointed residential units. Other facilities to cater the needs of the guests are also provided.

Aside from the aforementioned events, other Mövenpick hotels will be inaugurated. These are the branches in Sri Lanka (Mövenpick Hotel Colombo), China (Mövenpick Hotel Shanghai), Malaysia (Mövenpick Hotel & Convention Center KLIA, Kuala Lumpur), and Northern India (Mövenpick Resort and Spa Dharamshala). Groundbreaking ceremonies will also be held on Malaysia (Terrenganu) and China (Sanya & Chifeng) on 2014.

The big events laid out for the said year are just additions to the on-going expansion of the hotel company. There are other branches in different cities in Asia waiting to be completed. In Thailand, the third quarter of 2012 marks the opening of the 286-room Mövenpick Surowongse Hotel in Chiang Mai and the 81-pool villa Mövenpick Resort & Spa in Mae Nam Beach in Koh Samui. Come 2013, the 250-room Mövenpick White Sand Beach Resort in Jomtien (near Pattaya) as well as the Mövenpick Hotel & Residences that boasts of 266 guestrooms and 100 residential units will start its operations.

These developments signify the continuous success of the Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in penetrating through the Asian markets.
